CVS 213-Vascular Sonography III (Fall 2024)
Course Description:
Building upon the foundational knowledge from Vascular Sonography II, this course delves deeper into the specialized areas of vascular sonography. Students will explore advanced topics including the assessment of hemodialysis access grafts, the identification and evaluation of pseudoaneurysms, and the intricate anatomy and Doppler evaluation of intracranial vessels.
Learning Outcomes:
· Demonstrate proficiency in the sonographic appearances, techniques, measurements, and Doppler flow characteristics of both normal and abnormal vascular structures, with a focus on intracranial arteries.
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound's role in evaluating vascular surgical interventions, from pre-operative planning and intra-operative guidance to post-operative assessments, particularly for dialysis fistulas and grafts.
